About the Role

  • Maintain and update the term repositories and translation memories
  • Support the linguistic, operations and project management teams with process efficiency initiatives and by answering questions relating to ongoing translation/revision/proofreading projects
  • Ensure copy style, standard and guidelines are followed in French and English print material
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the clients and the internal linguistic team, in order to better understand and address the client’s preferences, style, tone, reference documents
  • Create, update and maintain consistent, personalized client profiles, general stylistic, terminology guidelines and client specific term preferences
  • Standardization of client an industry terminology
  • Assist the project management team with identifying appropriate memories and term bases for specific texts
  • Conduct rigorous terminology searches to an industry or client, for future reference

Main Responsibilities

Requirements / Desired skills

  • University degree in Translation and/or a Translation Certificate
  • Fluent in both French and English
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
  • Excellent attention to detail and rigorous approach
  • Great knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation rules
  • Wonderful communication and teamwork skills across organization, departments and job levels
  • Positive spirit and attitude
  • Strong MS Office, Adobe (PDF mark-ups) and CAT tool skills
  • Ability to learn news skills and adapt to new processes and technologies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
  • Experience in a previous translation and legal fields is an asset
  • Previous experience as a terminologist is an asset
  • Strong research skills
